LAW & DISORDER: the Insanity Defense is a 110 mins fly on the wall documentary about the criminal responsibility of the mentally, which puts the Insanity Defense itself on trial.
A rough 110 mins cut is available. The film has been self-financed with some tapes donated by SONY. I am now trying to raise approximately £140,000 to pay for post-production costs and rights to archive material. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why make a documentary about the Insanity Defense? First of all, I did not reach out for this documentary, it reached out for me as I was doing some research for a drama script. And the more I delved into it, the more aware I became of the importance of bringing all the taboos about mental illness into the open. I discovered that since 1983 in the US, at least 60 people have been executed despite being diagnosed as either mentally ill or suffering from mental retardation.
But what would happen if I was called up for jury duty and the defendant claimed to be mentally ill and pleaded insanity? Would I be able to be objective and fair minded? I decided to investigate further and 'LAW & DISORDER: the Insanity Defense' follows my journey of discovery.
I was shocked about what I was finding. Jurors have preconceived ideas about mental illness and the Insanity Defense plea. The mentally ill are criminalized because of people's misconception of mental illness. And deeply rooted beliefs are not easily wiped off. I had to search for evidence to show that mental illness is not just an expression of stress or lack of will power. Mental illness is a medical disorder. At the same time, I wanted to take in impartial look at culpability and free will. I wanted to understand, as much as science allows us to understand what can drive dramatic actions and let the viewers and potential jurors make an informed decision. Only then can there be a chance for stigmas to really be eliminated.

The film urges citizens to re-think their perception of the mentally ill, to take this knowledge to the Court when asked, and perhaps become advocates so that no more mentally ill person stands on death row.

We would like you to get in touch with Out of the Box vending machines and ask them if they can put your drink in their vending machines, (the orange one please.)
Hi.. here's my idea<br>

Everyone makes a tune in a 4x4 format, 64 bars in length, at an agreed tempo.. they then get mixed together.<br><br> To make it easier to mix, each producer adds an 8 bar intro and 8 bar outro (percussive ..could be the basic beat, or hat / ride pattern)<br><br>

ive done it once before to good effect.. take a look here<br><br>
http://postbocks.com/uploads/ninjatuneforum_beatsmiths_mixed_by_kovas_64barchallengevol1108bpm

id love to do it again.. hope in in the right place<br>

thanks for taking the time to read this

To prepare London for the forthcoming Olympics, I propose to make it possible for everyday people to attempt to set new world records, not according to a set distance, such as the 100 metres, but across a famous landmark.

This could be the millenium bridge, The Mall, Brick Lane, Tottenham court road, Hampstead heath.

Using accurate time keeping kit would make the time official. Results will be posted on line. The events will take place at times tthat avoid people / traffic. Requires web help, organisers and official time keeping equipment.

Would be really interested in hearing peoples thoughts.

Seeking musicians, designers, illustrators, film makers, vj's, photographers, lighting engineers, writers.
-
This is a musical project, plus quite a lot more. The Illumination Orchestra is a group (25 or so) of outstanding young musicians that performs large scale concerts.
-
We perform modern symphonies that I have written with input from members of the orchestra. The orchestra consists of a 20 piece classical section and then an electronic rhythm section with 3 synths, 3 percussionists and guitar and bass.
-
The Visual side of the show is just as important as the sound. To that extent we have VJ's performing live and an extravagant light show.
-
The first symphony was performed on February 1st 2009 to an audience of roughly 1000, please see this link for photos. There is also a DVD in production that should be out soon.
-
http://web.me.com/logictoolbox/Sessions/FRED010209.html
-
Most of all, I would like to let the music do the talking. So email me and I will send you the first symphony.
-
I am looking for anyone who is interested in getting involved. This may be as a venue, a designer, a musician- literally anything. I would like to incorporate all kinds of art, to use the broader term.
-
Thanks,
-
Alex

Currently I am looking for a graphic illustrator to collaborate with. No previous experience is neccessary. The pay is (unfortionalemente) non-existent but if the book does get picked up the author is more than happy to split the proceeds 50/50 etc.

My novel, ‘Beyond Bedford Falls’ takes place in a small town in America. It is all in the style of a children’s book with large print on one page and the picture on the other; the text being written in a very simplified narrative. Although it is certainly not a children’s book and contains several adult themes and references. The characters described within the novel are anthropomorphic animals in a humanised world. Bedford Falls, could be set during the ‘50’s although some of the technology and costumes could be more modern. Within this, admittedly, strange world several interlinked stories evolve from the point of view of a number Bedford Falls inhabitants from various social backgrounds. The stories within this novelette portray a darker side to American popular culture of the past; the themes of loneliness and isolation being studied within.

We have 2 free-sheets in London – and it’s difficult to tell them apart. If we can create a paper, with even a little editorial backbone – we have the opportunity to scoop the free-sheet market and the advertising revenues that come with it. 2 million readers. A 1p free-sheet. The maths isn’t complicated.

A FREE SHEET YOU PAY FOR?

Like all the best truths, it’s common knowledge. Girls are snobs. Not for high-tea and silver spoons. But for that guy that’s just that little bit better turned out than the others. The one that’ll buy them a cocktail not an alco-pop. The guy reading The Times not The London Lite.

So here’s the trick. If we can create a free-sheet newspaper and sell it. Not for pound. But for a song. For 1p. Are you in?

You might have heard of the idea of cooking frogs.

It's where you pop a frog in a pot of cold water.

Pop the pot on the cooker. And turn the heat up veeery slowly.

You know what happens? The frog sits there, getting warmer and warmer. But because you turned the heat on veeery slowly, it will carry on sitting there, getting a little warmer by a little warmer, until it boils to death.

True, says wikepedia. So what says you?

There is an argument that we are in a similar position with global warming. Whether you’re on Al Gore’s side or not, it’s pretty clear that we are doing long term damage to the plant. But despite a sexed up documentary, charity campaigns, and huge government spending on JUST communicating climate change (not even fixing it) there is reason to suggest we need a new plan to get people acting, not just laughing at the light-bulbs that take 5 minutes to turn on.

The idea is IMAGINE THAT. If we can begin to create images that picture the long-term damage we are creating. Then we can start provoking change.

Take a look at the picture on the left. 2 Camels and a boat. It used to be the Aral sea, the 4th largest inland sea in the world. In the 60’s the Soviet Union started an environmental disaster that left only 25% of the sea. It’s a devastating picture. And we are causing similar damage elsewhere. If you could see this picture then, would you have stopped them?

We think so. And we need your help to create the pictures of tomorrow.

An exclusive interview in a conference centre or a hotel lobby. Those 5 minutes with an album cover in the back ground. And Lily Allen in ugg boots telling you to fuck off.

Band interviews today are hardly rock n' roll.

THAT GIRL is an exclusive internet stream of short, smart interviews - the kind of interviews that should be short-films because they're so beautiful. Shot on 35mm in Jim Jarmusch black and white. New energy bands. Great locations: that cafe which still has 70's plastic seats and tomato ketchup in tomato shaped bottles. That other cafe where tea only costs 70p. and THAT GIRL. An interviewer - who isn't out to look smarter than you. Prettier than you. Or like she has more famous friends. A girl that will ask smart questions, and backstage team that can pick the right band.

The product? Great little films about great new bands. With non of that naff paparazzi stuff, or those sarky presenters. Excellent quality content, delivered in a beautiful way.

North vs. South London. A massive game of TAG in which Londoners cross the Thames invading their oppositions territory to find, capture and return with as many of the 100 'flags' placed there as possible.

Rules:
1. You must where a netball style bib at all times
2. No hurting people or calling them names - that's not nice
3. The Thames and 500 metres either side of it is no '(wo)man's' land
4. Players must stay outdoors at all times
5. Your out if hit with a water balloon / water pistol when in opposition territory
...and we woud need to think of some others too.

- flags could be digital / blue tooth for phones?
- teams could know where the flags they need to capture are, but opposition does not know?
- in the summer I think?

Ever wondered what life would be like if you were someone else? You really don't know until you walk in their shoes! 'Tolerance' is under rated....people judge from first impressions, appearance, voice, class, education, job, wealth, health. You stick to your friends and family, people who are like you. The only way you get more tolerant of people different from you is by sharing their trials and tribulations. See how the other half lives....life swap! Participants agree to go and spend time with someone for a day or two and record their experience in pictures, movie or text. You either go and spend time with someone you don't know or you invite someone to spend time with you. Participant or participee!! After a month, all the records of the experience come together in an 'exhibition/open evening'. All the diverse individuals come together as ONE.

I'll try and be brief...

I want to put a chair in the middle of an empty room. I'll take 100 pictures of 100 different people doing different things involving the chair. Each image will consist of something hilarious, shocking or mad. Each image will be identical in terms of lighting, composure and colours. In one picture we could have an insane rave going down in the room with a massive amp on the chair, in the next there could be a bride hung from the roof above the chair, in the next a man bending over the chair whilst his accomplice holds a plastic tube and a hamster. Whatever goes..

When the 100 images have been taken, they will be put into a book with the pictures taking up full pages and only a short introduction and thanks page.

I want the reader to have no idea what could possibly be on the next page, and for each image to cause a reaction, whether it be laughing, cringing or crying.. maybe all three at once.

To promote the project, to recruit models for the pictures and to generate the 100 ideas I'm going to create a website that users can submit their idea for consideration, along with an image of themselves, their location and contact details. I'll contact local newspapers for publicity and make some bad ass posters to spread around.

I posted this idea on a social networking site last year and got a great response, but never managed to find a suitable location for free. I'm now out to look for funding to hire a wicked room, rent some studio lighting and depending on the idea maybe some props too.

Once the book is complete what better than a massive party with everyone involved in the book and their friends invited, where they can purchase the book and get crazy drunk. I'd like to try and have the book published and would give some TV companies in Scotland an email to see if they might like to cover the project (worth a try).

What you guys think?

‘Aftermath Of Darkness’ [working title] is a bombastic socio-politico-cum-satirical-thriller charting the steady rise and inevitable fall of a conceited business executive as he proto-manages a highly-controversial assignment to save humankind from itself.

Taken from the point-of-view of its main protagonist, whose identity is never fully revealed, and using this character’s unreliable first-person narrative to subjectively describe the events surrounding him; we show a study of madness, corruption, fascism, near-godlike power and mass-hysteria. Told in the form of the executive’s personal diary entries, the story opens with him receiving a much-sort-after promotion. With the resulting respect and admiration that comes with his lofty new position the character soon takes things way out of hand, what with firing three secretaries to make room for a full-size pool-table in his office; indulging in fancy new reflective business cards which depict unto its viewers the executive’s name emblazoned on their foreheads in Architectura Bold; hiring a poetry-obsessed ghost writer to personally type up his biography as and when each event occurs; and coming to the eventual conclusion that he is the new messiah.

Touching upon issues of health-care, lifestyle choices and the economic resession that is currently on the political and media agenda today, ‘Aftermath Of Darkness’ explores the question of what if one sole person took responsibility for our own personal liberty and how we would react to such a violation of our human freedoms. This film promises to be a chillingly-eschewed portrayal of a world and a state of mind we can only hope shall never come to pass.

We are currently at the final stages of pre-production and are now seeking further guidance and expertise to spur this project on. We feel that it is an incredibly valid story for this day and age and is worth seeing to its completion. If you are at all insterested in seeing the script or any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
