<description>To prepare London for the forthcoming Olympics, I propose to make it possible for everyday people to attempt to set new world records, not according to a set distance, such as the 100 metres, but across a famous landmark.

This could be the millenium bridge, The Mall, Brick Lane, Tottenham court road, Hampstead heath.

Using accurate time keeping kit would make the time official. Results will be posted on line. The events will take place at times tthat avoid people / traffic. Requires web help, organisers and official time keeping equipment.

Would be really interested in hearing peoples thoughts.
