<description>URBAN EARTH is a project to (re)present one of the most diverse, exciting, fast changing and sometimes dangerous habitats on our planet: the city.

The idea is as simple as it is inclusive. Find a large urban area then walk across it following a route that (re)presents and shares the spaces of its inhabitants. URBAN EARTH is not about twisting and distorting reality, more ironing out the mess that the media regulary leave in our minds - It's about exploring where we live and discovering what it is really like. Armed only with a camera and taking images at regular intervals that are decided by distance and not you URBAN EARTH is 'what you see is what you get' and not the other way around. In Guadalajara over 100 people took part in a mass reclaiming of the streets.. URBAN EARTH is open.

Participating cities so far...
MEXICO CITY / MUMBAI / LONDON / GUADALAJARA / BRISTOL / NEWCASTLE / MANCHESTER
Walks planned for Bournemouth (Aug 09), the West Yorkshire Urban Area (October 09) and Derby (April 2010) come along. Also check out URBAN EARTH EVENT: CANTERBURY in January http://urbanearth.ning.com
